The administration at Whippany Park High School told Hanover Township Police Department School Resource Officer that a questionable item that may pose a security risk was reported on school grounds, Hanover Township Police said.

The school sheltered in place for 24 minutes as officers investigated, police said. As soon as the concern was mitigated, the shelter in place was lifted and the school resumed regular activities, police said.

The investigation is going and anyone with information is asked to email Captain David White at dwhite@hanoverpolice.com.

Police did not say what the questionable item was.
